FAR-TECH,in collaboration with
SLAC, built the first cavity-based diagnostic capable of measuring
the quadrupole moment of a beam. The device was tested at SLAC's
NLCTA facility.
Presently, we are building an integrated beam monitor that combines
the quadrupole cavity with a pair of dipole-mode beam position
cavities. The quadrupole moment is measured with a high-efficiency
two-cell cavity (patent pending).
